Dialect Coach

Due to the high number of international productions and co-productions actors that can speak English fluently are in demand. To be fluent, you have to be so both in grammar and in speech communication. Pronouncing sounds correctly, knowing where to put the stress in words and sentences, and speak with the right rhythm and intonation are all equally important in order to be understood and become fluent. Evidently, once you nail English pronunciation you can start learning accents. Please, do bare in mind that having an accent is not the most important thing, actually it is totally fine to keep your natural accent. For example, if you put on an English accent but the rhythm is off, you won’t be understood. Moreover, if you are called to the audition room the casting director probably knows that you are from X country and will expect you to have that accent. So, there is no need to get rid of it as long as you can be understood. However, once you rock and roll English pronunciation you can jump into learning accents.
